Plastic-A boon or A bane?

 After a long time I wanted to share some of my views.From so many days I was feeling very bad to see polythene bags lying everywhere,on the road side,in the dust bins ,in the beaches,in the open places,in the railway stations and tracks and the list is endless. Now a days every thing in the market is available in plastic containers and in polythene bags. We can not imagine this world without plastic.It is a part and parcel of our daily life.When a thing like plastic was invented people considered it as a boon to the society.and so was it.But no one might have thought that, the same thing turns out to be a bane to the society.Today there is an indiscriminate use of plastic.As a result there is tones of plastic waste ,which is deadly.Plastic is not bio degradable.It won't merge with soil and it releases toxins.It takes thousands of years to mix in the soil. It is high time that we should stop this indiscriminate use. If we take oath to avoid using plastic and polythene, we can solve this problem to a certain extent.I still remember my childhood days, where we used to keep glass water bottles in the fridge,we used to buy honey, jams and squashes in glass bottles,we used to carry cloth bags to market,and we used to get milk in the glass bottles.can't we get back those days?
      It is so painful for me to use plastic as a substitute for glass..Even a child's milk bottle,toys and prams are taken over by plastic.we are seeing only convenience but not realizing that.we are giving hazardous living conditions to our future generations Why don't.we start using glass in place of plastic?Why not cloth or jute in place of polythene.?At least some of us start this practice,our children will enjoy a clean and  toxin free environment..
      Let us give a serious thought to this issue and spread this  as a movement to build a plastic less society..
